KnicksWinDivision

Today marks the day when the Knicks win their first division title since 1994. These are very different New York Knicks. I mean that ’94 team was full of monsters. Namely Anthony Mason, Charles Oakley and Patrick Ewing. Yikes. Those are three guys that you would not want to meet in a dark alley. They were beating up people down low and making their presence known. John Starks was on that team. On of the most streaky shooters in NBA history. You can have a night where he would light up the joint and others where he couldn’t hit the side of a barn. Greg Anthony brought a toughness at the point guard position as well as Tarheel Hubert Davis hitting threes from the outside. It was a good team, a championship team. They just had too many hurdles in their way. Reggie Miller with the Pacers, the Jordan-less Chicago Bulls, and eventual champion Houston Rockets with Hakeem and Clyde.
The 2013 Knicks have a different style. You have trigger happy Melo, sharp shooter Novac and old Man “first ballot” Jason Kidd. All of these players combined with Defensive Player of the Year Tyson Chandeller and hopefully the return of Amare Stoudemire will make these Knicks a contender. There are problems looming. Miami looks unbeatable with Lebron and Wade, Indiana is strong and Boston is always dangerous. We will have to wait and see, but these Knicks have the spirit of champions as well as Spike Lee still sitting courtside. We shall see.
