OKC-Blues

A comedian once said in his stand up routine, “if you ever get a chance to go to Oklahoma…pass it up.” I have only set foot in OKC once or twice. I may have gotten a tattoo there. Not sure if I was in OK or TX. Anyway, this does not seem like the ideal place to live for most people. Enter Kevin Durant who was drafted by Seattle and then the team suddenly left and landed in OKC. He is a professional so you never heard anything from him about it. I had to be a culture shock. He did play for the University of Texas in college, so maybe its not that big a deal. Especially, not a big deal because the team is good. Fresh off a trip to the NBA finals. But now with Westbrook out, Durant is singing the blues. He is being forced to do it all himself. All of the games are close and you just have to imagine what how it would be if Westbrook was healthy or if Harden had hung around. I think if Durant wrote a song it would go like this: (Imagine the “Bad to the Bone melody):
Da Da Da Da Da
I Play for Oklahoma
Da Da Da Da Da
The Place with all the Dust
Da Da Da Da Da
That ring was close last year
Da Da Da Da Da
Just a bit out of touch
Da Da Da Da Da
Fighting for our playoff lives now
Da Da Da Da Da
And I’m the master key
Da Da Da Da Da
So now I’m singing the blues
Da Da Da Da Da
Since Westbrook bust up his knee

I’m no song writer. Let’s see how it all plays out.
