Ok, so we have our Cinderella story. A historic one. Florida Gulf Coast, a team that didn’t really come out of nowhere. They did beat Miami earlier in the year so people were paying attention. But, like this? After dunking Georgetown (literally) they went on to beat San Diego State to become the first 15 seed to reach the sweet 16. The scary thing is, they look good. They are not winning with surprise tactics like a full court press or a superstar player, but they seem like a really good team. Very athletic as we all saw from the alley-oop dunks and highlight reel plays. Strong defensively and impressive. So what’s next? A showdown with the in-state rival Gators in Jerry Jones’ palace. So buckle your seat belts and get ready for a big Texas showdown between two powerhouse Florida teams. Somewhere Emmitt Smith is smiling.
